Language

Following languages are accepted for the documents and identification papers: French, English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese. Documents written in another language must be translated by a sworn translator. 

Documents required to apply to a bachelor-level programme

As a general rule, the following documents are required to apply to a bachelor-level programme :

  • A passport photograph (3×4 cm, file format: JPG (preferably), PDF, TIFF, or RTF)
  • A copy of your ID card (both sides)or passport (photo page)
  • A copy of your secondary school diploma (+ equivalency if it was delivered outside Belgium).

If you are not one of the students who have just finished high school, additional documents will be required in order to justify your previous activities.

  • Proof of non-degree academic activities and non-academic activities during the 5 previous years, including start and end dates (e.g. certificate of occupation delivered at the end of a labour contract, etc.)
  • A certificate of no debt delivered by the higher education institution (university, ‘haute école’, etc.) in the French Community of Belgium in which you were enrolled during the 2015-2016 academic year, if applicable.

Documents to provide upon request by the admission board

  • Cover letter (if requested by the admission board)
  • Course list (if requested by the admission board)

Additional documents for non-EU students

  • If you hold a secondary school diploma other than the Baccalauréat delivered by a European school or the international baccalaureate from Geneva, you must provide an equivalency.
  • If you are applying to the first year of a bachelor programme, or if the faculty's admission board believes you should enter a bachelor-level programme, you must also provide the transcript from your final year of secondary school.
  • If you are applying for an assimilation status: documents proving your assimilation, depending on the nature of the assimilation criterion.

Documents required to apply to a master-level programme

As a general rule, the following documents are required to apply to a master-level programme :

  • A passport photograph (3×4 cm, file format: JPG (preferably), PDF, TIFF, or RTF)
  • A copy of your ID card (both sides) or passport (photo page)
  • Higher education degree(s) earned + detailed transcripts
  • Your secondary school diploma if it was delivered in the last 5 years, as well as proof of non-degree academic activities and non-academic activities during the 5 previous years, including start and end dates (e.g. certificate of occupation delivered at the end of a labour contract, etc.)
  • A certificate of no debt delivered by the higher education institution (university, ‘haute école’, etc.) in the French Community of Belgium in which you were enrolled during the 2015-2016 academic year, if applicable.
