Course content
Definition of catalysis processes in catalysis major industrial glossary kinetic Catalytic activity and selectivity. comparison between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis: application of the theory of the transition state, classification of catalysts, their preparation and characterization by spectroscopic method and conventional (TPD, TPR, TPO, TEM, XPS, AES, SIMS, IR), acidity basicity and surface structure of metal catalysts, physisorption and chemisorption precursor states, adsorption according to the Langmuir model, determination of specific surface area by BET, Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, Eley-Rideal and Mars van Krevelen, large-scale examples: production of ammonia (Haber Bosch), synthesis gas (Fischer Tropsch), hydrodesulfurization, oxidation, biomass valorisation.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
