Course content
(1) Thin walled structures : sectorial properties; beams subjected to torsion; lateral torsional buckling and other problems of stability of steel structures. (3) Design of prestressed concrete beams. (4) Composite (steel-concrete) columns, beams and slabs. (4) Limit load analysis of continuous beams and simple frames in steel, reinforced concrete or composite. (5) Selected topics of design of reinforced concrete structures: slabs; strut and tie method; structural effects of time-dependent deformations of concrete in statically indeterminate structures; slender columns.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Design of steel, concrete or composite statically inderminate structures taking into account their nonlinear behaviour.
