Course content

Various in-depth questions of general and special administrative law.

Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)

Familiarize the student with the modes of reasoning of administrative law and develop his / her "legal imagination".

Teaching methods and learning activities

The course is given in the form of a seminar.

The teaching method varies from year to year.

In some years, the course focuses on one or two administrative law topics. Students are invited to carefully read for each session various doctrinal studies or jurisprudence decisions related to this or these themes. During the course, the teacher invites the students to comment on the texts read. At the end of the year, a written examination is organized. It deals with the subject matter that was examined during the various sessions of the course.

In other years, it consists of: - on the one hand, in the writing of a detailed written work and about fifteen pages (commentary of arrest), if necessary, the oral defense of the results of the research, The critical reading of the works written by the other students and the active participation in the debates arising from the oral presentation of the works; On the other hand, the collective or individual resolution of cases arising out of professional practice and the active participation in the debates arising from the presentations relating to them. In this second formula, an examination is not organized.

Other

The student will not lose sight of the fact that this is an in-depth question course. It must therefore ensure that the subjects submitted are studied in a detailed and original manner.

Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)

In the first of the two abovementioned formulas, the final mark consists mainly of the mark obtained on examination and, incidentally, the mark given for participation in the seminar sessions.

In the second format, the final mark corresponds to the mark given for the written work and its oral presentation, and to the mark given for participation in the seminar sessions.

In both cases, attendance at the course is compulsory.
