Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The course in "History of the French language and French speaking areas" aims to trace the external history of French, in other words the story from the outside, and light its conditions of emergence and expansion, while familiarizing students with all theoretical concepts that the this story involves. It combines the desire to understand what the French language is strictly to the desire to construct an image of the French language as fully as possible, using a large number of sources and sources of the greatest variety, regularly stimulating a critical distance from the sources that History provides us with.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical bases : lectures with multimedia support
Supervised exercises: project-based teaching, i. e. students work in groups on a project assigned to them, assuming each a specific role within the group
