Course content
The measure of wealth and its repartition, at the World and European scales. Economy and population. The production of economic spaces, in a long-time perspective, in the World-system, in Europe and in Belgium. Centre and periphery in the World-system and the contemporary globalisation. The locational strategies of the transnational firms.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The aim of the course is to underline the dialectical interactions between space and the economic logics, and to understand the logics of the actors in the different historical and spatial contexts.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Ex-cathedra course, plus non compulsory exercises for a better understanding of the lecture of the maps, figures, statistics, etc.
