Course content
The first part of the course presents the tools of Egyptian archaeological research (bibliographical catalogues, encyclopaedias, etc.), as well as the bases for a critical approach to the available sources (especially electronic resources) for carrying out a personal research; it is completed by a presentation of the main research institutions in Egyptian archaeology. The second part of the course consists of the study of questions seen in HAAR-B200, illustrating methodological issues. Finally, two sessions are devoted to the visit of the Egyptian collection of the Brussels Art and History Museum (Cinquantenaire).
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Deepen the knowledge of Ancient Egypt acquired in BA2, by focusing on the methodology of research in Egyptology and a direct contact with the original objects.

Presentation of the research tools in Egyptian archaeology. Personal implementation of the methodological assets by writing of an individual essay. Cisit of the Egyptian collection in the Brussels Art and History Museum.
