Course content
Introduction to the methods based on visible light, electrons, and X-rays. Illustration with examples on archaeological artefacts.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Introduce the students to archaeometry and to the advantages and disadvantage of a few methods.
Provide to the students a basic knowledge allowing them to dialog constructively with scientists in charge of analysis and to analyse critically the scientific part of the papers.
Teaching methods and learning activities
formal (ex-cathedra) for 16 hrs and illustration in the laboratory for 8-9 hours.

Other
oral presentation of a individual work on one or more papers chosen by the student. The written version and the papers have to be provided to the teacher one week prior to the oral examination.
Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
The final note takes into account the oral presentation and the quality of the written report.
