Course content
Seminars: Pre- and Protohistory I & II are biannual courses devoted to current research, with contributions from guest researchers (Axis 1). In parallel, an annual theme devoted to the Neolithic and/or European Protohistory is developed (e.g.: social organizations, emergence of metals) (Axis2).
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
- Familiarize students with theoretical and methodological approaches to a given subject.
- Encourage contact between students and those involved in research.
Prerequisites and Corequisites
Required and Corequired knowledge and skills
Students must have taken the course Notions d'Histoire de l'Art et Archéologie : Pré-/Protohistoire (HAARB-230). Validation of the course Travaux dirigés : Pre-/Protohistory (HAARD-305) is higly recommended.
Cours co-requis
Teaching methods and learning activities
Seminar in the form of lectures by the instructor and guest lecturers. Students may also produce (and present) a short paper.
Contribution to the teaching profile
- Contact with external researchers.
- Understanding of the importance of choice of methods in research.
