Programme objectives
The major aim of the ULB's Master in Medicine is to provide scientific and professional training in order to produce highly skilled doctors with a sense of integrity and a profound understanding of human considerations. Students learn about their future career through contact with experienced practitioners right from the outset. The course gives successful graduates legally recognised access to the profession and provides them with the necessary skills to allow them to seek work in a broad range of fields, such as :
-
Curative and preventive medicine
-
Hospital and clinical practice
-
Workplace and school medicine
-
Laboratory and industry research
The training takes into account the scientific, human and societal considerations of the medical profession, such as :
-
Scientific approach to medical problems based on the principles of evidence-based medicine
-
Techniques for communicating with patients and theirfamilies which respect the needs of the patient particularly in terms of decision-taking
-
Respect for legal and deontological rules, and ethical principles, etc.
