Course content
Every year the subject, which concerns music from Renaissance or Baroque eras, changes. The research is about a document or a corpus not previously studied.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Objectives:
to give a strong introduction to the investigation methods linked with early manuscript and printed sources: description of the document, transcription of the music and study of the musical repertory and of the context (political, institutional, literary, etc).
A the end of the course, the student must be able to :

be autonomous in a research into early music sources: research and critical study of the sources, transcription and anylisis of the music, presentation of the work (or corpus) in its context.

present the results of his/her research (in oral and written form)
Teaching methods and learning activities
Lecture and practical classes with an active participation of the students
References, bibliography, and recommended reading
Depends on the subject : it is distributed at the first class.
