Course content
Philological approach to the evolution of musical notation and paleography from the 9th to the 17th century.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Introduction to connections between composition, interpretation and musical notation in Western tradition
Introduction to the problems raised by the modern edition of early music notation
At the end of the course, the student must be able to recognize and transcribe the principal notations of Western music
Teaching methods and learning activities
