Nutrition and diseases
Role of the gut microbiota and bacterial metabolites in health and diseases; influence of dietary compounds on the gut barrier function; what are the probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics and fermented food; Omega 3 fatty acids; the Mediterranean diet
Nutrition related to obesity, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic low back pain, gout, pain, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Nutrition and diseases
The main objective is to investigate the role of nutrition and dietary compounds in different diseases including chronic inflammatory diseases, musculoskeletal alterations and pain.
