Course content
Epistemology and critics of the geopolitics. Spatial patterns and political configurations, in a long-term perspective. The building of the Nation-State (with a particular attention paiend to the Belgian case) and of the World-System. Electoral Geography, in Europe and in Belgium. New perspectives in the present world.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
To show the historicity of the building of the territories and their organisation, in a materialist perspective, but including a strong emphasis on the importance and the inertia of the superstructures.
