Course content
The course deals with the bio-psychosocial bases of sexual functioning. It also deals with the main sexual dysfunctions (erectile dysfunction, hypoactive sexual desire, premature ejaculation, and so on), with sexual compulsive disorders (sexual abuse, exhibitionism, voyeurism, fetishism and so on), atypical gender identity and sexual orientation. Sexual interviewing skills and main psychological interventions (for individual and couples) will be presented and illustrated by clinical presentations. Information about research tools and methods will be provided.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The course aims at familiarizing students with the conceptual bases, psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioural and systemic aspects of sexuality and related psychopathology and at increasing students knowledge about psychological interventions in this context.
