Course content
Confidence intervals. Hypotheses testing. Some nonparametric tests to solve position problems. Simple and multiple linear regression. Principal components analysis.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
To introduce the classical techniques of inferential statistics. To present some methods of multivariate analysis used in the statistical treatment of surveys.

Ex cathedra course accompanied by exercises allowing students to apply the concepts, tools and methods seen in the theoretical course.

Written examination with open questions about the theory and the resolution of exercices.
Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
The result obtained at the exam constitutes the final note.
Theory questions represent about a quarter of the note, issues of exercises correspond approximately to the other three quarters.
