Course content
Systematic study of Russian vocabulary by topics based on frequency ratings. Study of grammatical exceptions and difficulties based on synoptic tables to learn by heart. If necessary, the words are situated in their cultural, historical or geographic context.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
To enable students to practise spoken and written Russian by studying grammatical structures and vocabulary and applying the rules of phonetics. To develop basic passive (oral decoding, comprehension of written texts) and active (production of texts and dialogues) oral and written skills.
At the end of a (successful) course, students will have reached level A1 according to the CEFR, and will have acquired an initial communicative competence. As well as developing a strong ability to analyse information, summarise and write, students will learn to think critically and lay the foundations for an understanding of the social and cultural issues facing Russian-speaking regions.
