Presentation

Fulfill your personal ambitions by:

  • receiving high-quality teaching of the many aspects of general history and other subjects that help us to better understand history.

  • doing a course that teaches you to analyse any question relating to a period in history.

This course will help you to develop your ability to analyse and synthesise and will open up your mind by decompartmentalising subjects and historical periods, by providing teaching in historical criticism and historiographic reflexion and by familiarising students with the art of analysing and using sources

This course will give you training that will enable you to analyse any aspect of history in depth using an approach based on rigour, critical analysis, documentary research and interpretation of testimony.

Specific supervision will be provided at the seminars you attend over the course of the year. You will also be able to receive training in library research.

You have at your disposal:

  • the human sciences library

  • PCs providing access to online resources

Mobility is specifically encouraged at the Department of History at ULB. Exchanges have been set up with universities in Germany, the UK, Spain, France, Italy and Sweden. It is also possible to do part of your bachelor at VUB.
