Course content
Analysis of one work from the Latin literature at each quadrimester : textual genre, philological problems, intertextual relationships. Exercises in fluent reading of Latin texts.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Broadening and increasing the students' knowledge of Latin literature, continuing the Baccalauréat courses in this topic. Each year a complete work by a different Latin writer is dealt with in a philological and literary perspective.
To develop further skills for linguistic and literary analysis.

Knowledge of the literary and cultural topics linked with Latin texts.
References, bibliography, and recommended reading
In the academic year 2023-2024, the text discussed will be the Satiricon by Petronius.

Main Course: written exam (translation and commentary within one and the same exam).
Exercises in fluent reading: tests by the assistant.
Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
The final mark is the average of the marks obtained in the exercises and in the two written exams linked with the main course.
