Course content
An operational method of non-discrimination requires the command of complex concepts (i.e. indirect discrimination or ethos-based organisations) and specific procedures (i.e. reversal of the burden of proof or the use of situation testing). It also involves addressing such questions whereby both legal and ethical issues are at stake (i.e. categorization based on ethnic origin or reasonable accommodation in religious matters). The course is divided into different modules whose schedule and content are available on the Virtual University
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The question of non-discrimination, in that it refers notably to the notions of equality and of justice in the broad sense, presents a challenge for our societies. In law, this field has acquired an increasing importance not only on the European level but also on the national one. The main objective of the course is to give students the necessary tools to be able to deal with cases of discrimination in their area of expertise.
