Course content
Elucidation of language (including translation) and detailed analysis in German during the class of representative extracts of at least tow works of literature. Private study of supplementary works is complemented with three sessions of essay writing in class as well as one essay written at home.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Familiarising the students with at least two major contemporary German language authors and initiating them to the techniques of literary analysis whilst furthering their language acquisiton
Teaching methods and learning activities
Theory (introduction to the authors) and seminar (text analysis). Exercices in essay writing (with preparation et correction in the form of a seminar). Private Study (Reading of complementary books and a written dissertation at home). The course is given in German
