Part "Enjeux de l'histoire" (Nandrin):Part "Philosophy of history" (Engels): Chronological introduction to the main systems of the philosophy of history, from Antiquity (Plato, Polybius, Lovy, Seneca, St Augustin etc.) and the Middle Ages (Joachim of Flore etc.) to Modernity (Machiavelli, Vico, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Spengler, Sartre, Toynbee, Fukuyama etc.)

Inviting critical reflexion about the profession of beeing a historian and about the metaphysical and ideological aspects of history.
