Course content
The course will focus on providing students with the knowledge of grammar and academic vocabulary knowledge necessary to be better able to understand the written and oral input at an A2/B1 level (CEFR).
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
- To introduce students to documents relating to the field of Human Sciences;
- To introduce students to grammar and lexis necessary to engage with documents relating to the field of Human Sciences;
- To equip students with techniques relating to academic and subject-specific vocabulary, reading and listening comprehension;
- To activate grammatical and lexical knowledge through in-class activities.

An A2/B1 level (CEFR) of English is needed to engage with the input.

Semester 2: February – June 2024:
Weekly on-campus classes in Semester 2 for those who are not successful in January.

The course will be evaluated by means of written exams in the January and May/June exam sessions. If students pass the January exam, this is their final mark and they do not have to attend class in Semester 2. Those who do not pass this exam are required to attend class in Semester 2, and their final grade will be based solely on their performance in the May/June session.

May/June Exam: 100%
