Programme objectives
French is the only international language other than English that is spoken on each of the world's continents, with some 264 million speakers. There are currently 82 million young people and adults learning French. The main purpose of this programme is to provide French language training to both native and non-native speakers within the cultural context of Belgium, and to promote further research on teaching French as a foreign language.
Teaching team and methods
Programme's added value
As an international capital with French as its majority language, Brussels is a test bed for a wide range of approaches to language phenomena. This makes a high level of proficiency in French all the more important, and this programme rises up to the challenge. It gives students the opportunity to go from beginner to intermediate, or from intermediate to advanced. The city's cosmopolitan status promotes intercultural exchanges, making Brussels especially friendly to non French speakers.
