Course content
Through a specific theme (that changes every academic year), the teaching unit confronts the students to the sources during courses and workshops taking place in the Bibliothèque royale de Belgique (Royal Library of Belgium) and in different librarian and archival institutions (in Brussels, Flanders or Wallonia).
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
To develop the capacity to study a research subject thanks to primary sources.
To reinforce the knowledge of the music history in Belgium.
To discover the diversity of the musicological sources and the way to analyze them.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Supervised exercises and personal works.
References, bibliography, and recommended reading
The basis bibliographic references are given to the students during the first lesson.

Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
Attendance to the lessons is mandatory because a part of the mark depends on the taking part in the project and the oral presentations. Therefore, the second session is only available to students having satisfy this part of the evaluation.
