Course content
The course presents the basic theoretical concepts necessary to describe public policy, analyze the factors influencing its development, and understand how public administration, in interaction with other societal actors, can shape this development. The course is structured around three main parts:
- Definition of public policies and an introduction to the policy cycle model.
- The actors and institutions involved in public policies.
- Theories of the policy process.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The aim of the course is to provide students with the theoretical and methodological tools necessary to understand and analyse what a public policy is and how public administration, in interaction with other societal actors, can shape and influence its development.
