Course content
Comparison between old and modern Spanish. Reconstruction of the processes which led to Spanish phonology, morphology and syntax. Relationship between language and history. Application to Spanish of basic concepts of historical linguistics ("phonetic law", analogy, gramaticalisation) and sociolinguistics (diglossia, substratum, etc.)

To provide the foundations of internal and external evolution of the Spanish language
