Belgium
The federal government supports a number of programmes, among which are BRAIN-be (Belgian Research Action through Interdisciplinary Networks) and EOS (the Excellence of Science).
FNRS
The National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) is a major source of funding for research at ULB, whether based on contracts or research mandates.
Wallonia-Brussels Federation
The Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Wallonia-Brussels Federation) funds fundamental research, including through its ‘Actions de Recherche’ (ARC) programme.
Brussels-Capital Region
With projects such as Co-Création and Prospective Research, with Innoviris, and as part of the ERDF, ULB plays an active part in research in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Wallonia
From competitive clusters to the ERDF or to the WIN4Spin-Off’ initiative for example, ULB research is very active in Wallonia, and especially in Charleroi.
Actions blanches
The "actions blanches" programme supports a ULB researcher or research team to develop a new and original theme.
ULB-VUB collaborations
ULB-VUB joint research groups bring together researchers from both universities who are active on the same research topic.
Foundations and patronage
Private sponsors support ULB research and researchers. Major sponsors include the ULB foundation, the Erasme fund, etc.
