Objectifs (et/ou acquis d'apprentissages spécifiques)

This course is an advanced graduate-level introduction into modern politicaleconomics. Its main objective is to teach a future researcher how toidentify and frame research questions that have a political economy dimension,and to conduct theoretical and empirical analyses of such questions.bigskipThis year the course will be organised as a workshop on the political economics of inequality. It will be taught/coordinated mainly by Bruno Carvalho and Micael Castanheira, and will also feature Yasmine Bekkouche for the inequality of party finance, and Paula Gobbi for a special lecture on structural econometrics. The course is credited with (5 ECTS).

Lectures by the professors, plus systematic presentations by the students, workshop-style.

Contribution au profil d'enseignement

This course is an advanced graduate-level introduction into modern politicaleconomics. Its main objective is to teach a future researcher how toidentify and frame his or her research questions that have apolitical-economic dimension and to conduct theoretical and empiricalanalyses of such questions.The purpose of the course is to span through a large set of the newestresearch in political economics (5 ECTS).This year, the course will be taught by MicaelCastanheira and Bruno Carvalho. All lectures will take place at ULB.
