Learn the product design methodology proposed by Pahl and Beitz (Engineering Design): how to translate a need in a functional design and prototyope.
Méthodes d'enseignement et activités d'apprentissages
2 credits of ex-cathedra seminars
2 credits of practical training (design methodology applied to a case study)
1 credit individual work (readings, practice)
Contribution au profil d'enseignement
This course contributes to the following skills:
- Translate a need and a list of user's requirements into the language of engineering, anticipate the impact of a development on the environment (choice of materials, processes, etc.).
- Manage the complete development of an engineering project, integrating all constraints, from the original design to the product.
- Integrate normative (certifications), ethical and legal aspects related to engineering devices and practices, analyze safety aspects and implement quality processes.
- Communicate in English in the engineering field
