- The electron gas and phonons in solids. Perturbative treatments, bosonization, Bogoliubov transformations, the polaron problem
- Introduction to mean-field approaches, symmetry breaking and the Hartree-Fock approximation
- Bose Einstein condensates and the Bogoliubov theory of weakly-interacting Bose gases
- Itinerant magnetism and the Hubbard model
- BCS theory for conventional superconductors
